Awesome April is here!

We had a great time at the Gluten and Allergy Free Show in Hamilton, NZ in March. We really love meeting you in person and discussing your baking challenges! We want to remind you all that we are only an email or phone call away if you have any problems. We met a number of newly diagnosed people at the show and it was a strong reminder of how daunting this diagnosis can be. We are here to help, so please don’t ever struggle and do this on your own!


As the days cool down in the southern hemisphere, it’s time to start thinking about comfort food.

Slow cookers are fantastic for making nice hearty stews, casseroles or warming soups that really hit the spot in cooler weather. To thicken casseroles or soups, we recommend using either tapioca starch or glutinous rice flour. Both of these flours are less likely to break down on reheating in comparison to corn starch. Mix them with a little water before adding to the boiling sauce to achieve the desired thickness.

Another great option is pizza! We have had great feedback on our pizza base, which is easy to make, freezes well and tastes fantastic.  Topping choices are endless and you can even try one of our favourites and simply drizzle olive oil, add some finely chopped or crushed garlic and a sprinkle of rock salt - delicious!  If you require dairy free pizza, an alternative to cheese is to whisk an egg and gently pour on top. 

March's New Recipes!

RecipeApple Turnover:  Oh my goodness these are delicious! Dairy & sugar free turnovers that are made using a different method to the traditional way. Firstly making a pancake and then filling with the apple mixture before baking. This is a lovely light dessert warm from the oven and is best eaten on the same day for a crisp pastry.

Recipe 2Waffles: are great for a weekend breakfast, brunch or even dessert! Crisp on the outside and soft in the middle these are scrumptious. Toppings could be simply butter & maple syrup, or add in some bacon & caramelized banana ... or even berries & icecream! Whatever your favourite topping is, these are sure to please.

Workshops coming up in New Zealand:

Unfortunately, due to having to undergo an operation, we have put the workshops on hold. We hope to be running them again very soon but in the meantime the online recipe club will still have new recipes posted.
